Completed, 2024.

This 6-year, multi-phase project for an international banking client required re-configuring and significantly increasing the capacity of the bank’s existing flagship office in New York, and improving its circulation by extending one of its communicating stairs to connect to the added floor of the space. With the office active and productive through the entire course of the renovation, the most pressing challenge the Pliskin Architecture (panyc) team faced was minimizing interruption to ongoing operations in the various spaces affected.

With 2/3rds of the space already constructed and operational, the panyc team employed a ‘light touch’ to ensure work continued through construction, and to make many of the new elements seem like they were always there. From the staircase, to the carpeting, to the open office furniture, careful consideration was made to provide design continuity and to limit the construction site vibe for the bank’s employees.

The majority of renovations were done in sectioned off areas, with shifts between phases of the work happening on the weekend. Through the course of the renovations, the panyc team added more tables and seats to increase the capacity of the office, while upgrading the space HVAC’s adding restrooms, and improving circulation and security control throughout the 130,000 square foot bank.
