Varonis, a leading provider of cybersecurity software, recently completed work on a new 50,000 square foot office for the expansion of their presence in North Carolina. Designed by Gindi StudioPliskin Architecture, and Tina Barnard Designs, and situated outside the Research Triangle in Durham, North Carolina, this space is the latest in a series of office spaces Varonis has completed across North America.

The workplace, which occupies two floors in a newly constructed building in Perimeter Park, is structured around a flexible double-height gathering space called the Townhall. This space is designed to accommodate diverse uses throughout the workday – within the space, generous tiered steps offer a forum for company-wide gatherings as well as informal interactions. The furnishings throughout the space include a range of seating options, from benches to swings to lounge chairs, geared to allow different group sizes to collaborate and socialize.

To extend both formal and informal collaboration opportunities from the Townhall into the work areas, the new office includes additional social hubs, lounges, pantries, open-offices, and meeting rooms. Spaces are arranged as neighborhoods to allow for a variety of flexible zones that vary from private and quiet, to interactive and social, fostering a diversity of work and collaboration opportunities.

An assortment of textures and colors define neighborhoods and designate levels of privacy – the public lounges feature vibrant murals and welcoming furniture, while focused offices are clad in acoustic panels and feature crisp work surfaces, creating a quiet work environment, designed for enhanced sound separation, and allowing focused work areas within the lively public spaces in the office. Private phone booths, team meeting rooms, and large conference boardrooms are all equipped with the latest audio-visual technologies to adapt to an ever-evolving tech office. This two-and-a-half-year project came to completion June 2020.
