For Miriam’s second location, the panyc team created a new welcoming space for the beloved restaurant that is fresh while still anchored in its New York and Mediterranean roots. To achieve that, we borrowed elements from the original Brooklyn space and added flourishes specific to the new Upper West Side outpost.

We used the original tile from Miriam’s iconic Park Slope bar, echoed the arches that line its back bar, added terrazzo and brass at the new counter, and included several lush banquettes to create a warm interpretation of an all-day Mediterranean bistro. In the dining space, custom lights designed by our long-time collaborator Krista Ninivaggi, complement the matching rose gold bar mirrors. Brass pendants and sconces provide another layer of soft illumination over the bar and banquettes, walnut tables and chairs fill the dining area, and plantings scattered throughout complete the setting for a family-friendly neighborhood spot.
