As part of the relocation of the New York Islanders to the Barclays Center, certain shifts were needed to accommodate the game-day needs of both the Islanders and the Brooklyn Nets, who have already settled into the area. As part of these accommodations, and in advance of the 2016/2017 season, a new space was commissioned in the Event Level for the use of the spouses and children of the Brooklyn Nets players. The space, designed by K&Co as lead designer with Pliskin Architecture as the Architect of Record, accommodates event night catering, a private play area for the children of the Nets team, lounge spaces aimed for small scale conversations, and congregation around live broadcasts of the game.
