Completed, 2019.
The units in this five-story residential condominium building are geared towards families that want to benefit from the best amenities that a thriving urban neighborhood like Williamsburg can offer. A compact, infill residential building, it’s a model for sustainable growth and development that demonstrates the ample possibilities for contextual, friendly architecture that fits in comfortably with its existing streetscape. With this project, PANYC demonstrated how good design can encourage resilient development that is desirable to both owners and residents.
The building’s design is a minimalist, refined version of the classic masonry rowhouses with punched windows that have dominated Brooklyn residential architecture for over a century. The energy-efficient façade features oversized, high-performance windows that flood the interior living spaces with abundant daylight. The duplex and floor-through apartments have a clean, modern aesthetic, including exposed concrete slabs, 11-foot ceilings, hardwood floors, concrete tiled bathrooms, and custom kitchens.
