In progress, estimated completion: 2024
For a bespoke multifamily development in Brooklyn, the Pliskin Architecture (panyc) team is working with a developer group to develop a unique building that addressed specific gaps within an active real estate market in Williamsburg. This is one of panyc’s first ground up projects and is a contemporary take on a classic Brooklyn typology, accentuated by a distinctive masonry facade.
Recent developments in the neighborhood tend to have a generous inventory of one bedroom and two-bedroom apartments, with limited options for larger apartments, which affects the ability for growing families to stay in the neighborhood where they started their family. By creating fewer, larger apartments, this project seeks to go against the grain, favoring family apartments with ample exterior space.
The panyc team challenged the typical punched-opening masonry facade language to create identity within a crowded field. The proposed design features a masonry façade that is curved at the base and straight at its top, gently corbelling as it rises up the building. This 3-unit luxury condominium features one triplex apartment, a floor through apartment, and a duplex with a private roof, and is located close to the Williamsburg Waterfront. This project is set for completion in 2021, and is the second panyc Williamsburg Multi-Family.
