Excited that our D.C collaboration with SHoP Architects and K&CO has won an Interior Design Magazine Best Of Year Award in the Finance/Law Office category. The project is Pliskin Architecture’s first in Washington DC, and also our first ID Best of Year award.

To mark the occasion, we’re sharing a sneak peak of the space, with excellent photos by David Mitchell. We are quite proud of the space and and extremely happy with this win: it was a tight field, and we are humbled to have our work recognized by the competition jury.

The 8-story office for a leading law firm is structured around a diagonal atrium connecting all floors. The atrium contains seven monumental staircases, increasing connectivity within the office and allowing light to penetrate into the space. The atrium features several social amenities designed to improve collaboration, including a law library, dining rooms, a conference center, and a large outdoor terrace.

The top two floors of the office house the client-facing conference center and serve as the main arrival area for visitors, with the 6 floors below serving as practice floors – partner and associate offices line the perimeter of each floor.

The project was certified LEED Gold for Commercial Interiors.
