Completed, 2025.
This renovation of a 100-year-old Central Park West apartment balances classical prewar character, a refined contemporary sensibility, and a layout adapted to the family needs of our client.
The living room anchors the design with herringbone oak floors, a restored marble fireplace flanking arched built-ins with warm wood shelving, and a restored coffered ceiling fitted with a sculptural pendant. A bespoke bar cabinet, concealed behind lacquered doors, reveals fluted wood paneling, green marble surfaces, and brass hardware within – a quiet luxury hidden in plain sight.
The kitchen presented a particular configuration challenge, working within the constraints of an existing structural layout to create an open, functional space, resolved through wood cabinetry, open shelving and a sage green island topped in white stone. A dedicated home office was carved from the existing footprint, providing a quiet, purposeful workspace without compromising the apartment’s flow.
The newly conceived primary suite offers a serene retreat, complete with a walnut double vanity, dark slate tile, and a glass-enclosed rain shower. The primary bedroom is lined with floor-to-ceiling white oak millwork that integrates seamlessly into the space. The secondary bath offers a playful counterpoint with colorful tiles, a patterned mosaic floors, and a warm oak vanity.
