Office for Cybersecurity Company

Under construction, expected completion Q3 2020.

With the goal to provide a young cybersecurity company with a dynamic and lively environment, Pliskin Architecture was engaged to design a work space meant to foster innovation and inspire a new office culture for a growing firm.

Polished concrete flooring and industrial steel columns anchor the space, acting as a backdrop for our intervention. Navy blue paint with wood wool acoustic tiles create a large field on the ceiling to balance and contrast the concrete floor. Pops of color, through the use of painted private offices and meeting rooms, are tucked away behind glass office fronts, which play off of the contrasting vertical elements. These spaces are added along the wings to ground the open space, and define a visual hierarchy for the office.

Working closely with the cybersecurity company, we came up with an office layout that is designed to allow a diversity of opportunities to work, interact and relax. These programmed areas are distinguished by the use of carefully selected furniture. The meeting rooms offer an opportunity for a range of interaction for the many different meeting needs of the client. Wood wool tiles are added to allow for an acoustically comfortable environment for conversations. The work lounge is populated with furniture of all types to promote different forms of interaction. Whether it be a lunch time gathering, or an office cocktail party, the work lounge is designed to be the flexible social hub of the office. Two clusters of workstations are located at the center of the space adjacent to north facing windows, providing ample natural light to the company’s growing team. The guest lounge presents employees and guests a different setting to unwind, being both a counterpoint to the visually busier work area, and an opportunity for an informal gathering space for the larger team.
